The Salamanca area has become one of the principle commercial zones of Madrid, mainly the popular Serrano, Velázquez, Príncipe de Vergara; Goya and beyond. It is precisely in this enclave where you can find the Peace Market, the only one of the four iron markets in Madrid from the 19th century still standing. Designed by Antonio Ruiz de Salces, the prestigious architect of the National Library of Spain, was inaugurated in 1882 and after several restorations, the original style incorporates new technology to service their clients such as an ATM, Internet access, credit card availability in many of its establishments, WI-FI and its own channel of digital TV. This emblematic building has an ample and various array of commercial offerings that consist of traditional food, textiles, trips, jewelry, etc. It has been converted into a unique scene with every type of activity such as fashion shows, literary events, and exhibitions.
