Madrid is full of fashion. At every corner there is a Zara or Mulaya, each store with their version of the trendiest clothes. However, it can all get repetitive and expensive. While living in Madrid, I loved to find the places that I like to call “hidden gems”. The places that were not as known but added a Spanish twist to the latest fashion trends. These two spots were my credit cards favorite locations.

The first location is Mim. Mim is a local shoe store that provides its customers with the latest styles of sneakers, sandals, heels, and more. For the typical Spanish girl, this store is a usual stop by location, but for a Spanish fashionable tourist this is a hidden jackpot. They provide designer lookalikes for less than half the price of what a designer shoe would be. However, they don’t feel like dupes because of the Spanish originality the brand gives it. I can guarantee that your friends back home will be asking you millions of questions over your brand-new shoes. The shoes vary from 40 to 60 euros.

The second location and one that was a frequent stop by after school for me was Apodemia. If you are into jewelry that will last you a long time, is trendy, and won’t break the bank then this is a store for you. There are many locations around Madrid, however, I still like to think of it as a hidden gem. Each store provides the best service and attention to you when you are shopping through the various collections. Each collection with its own unique touch. The jewelry will last you a long time and the store provides free cleaning services for any purchases. I have been wearing my necklace for almost a year now and it has not changed from the second I bought it. Guaranteed I have gone to the store to get it cleaned, but just so I can get an excuse to look at their brand-new collections. The jewelry varies from 50 to 200 euros.
